60 minutes each from the resurrected Wheezers & Graeme Clark

They’re back! for a very limited series of appearances in 2026. The much-loved Wheeze &
Suck Band in all its sartorial splendour, for the first time in nearly ten years, celebrating
traditional and contemporary folk music at its best.

As ever, a Wheeze Suck performance is a shared experience with its audiences, friends
and supporters. Informal warmth and humour are part of the band member’s DNA, and an
energetic spirit that distinguishes them from many other acts on the folk scene. The band
established itself playing major festivals and folk clubs in Australia and New Zealand across
twenty years and seven albums of unique music.

The Wheezer’s music is as colourful as the band’s antique costumes. Searing Fiddle, pumping Melodeon, rhythmic Guitar, and driving Percussion, all complimented by three-part harmony singing. What a line up –  John Milce, Tony Pyrzakowski, Geoff Woodhead, Ian Macintosh. This is the Elsie Marley’s Mates lineup, plus Brad Stix, who has played percussion with the Wheezers for nearly 20 years, and Clive McCfarland from Traditional Graffiti  – far too many to put in the one picture.

Performances explore a great range of material by many great British singers and players; encompassing Steeleye Span to The Albion Band, Ewan McColl to The Watersons; plus heaps of traditional tunes and original songs. Every show is a party!

and

Acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter, Graeme Clark, has spent many years travelling all over Australia absorbing the influences of the Australian spirit that find an outlet in his songs and music.

Graeme has performed his original music at many venues large and small across N.S.W, Qld, Norfolk Island and the N.T. including the Illawarra Folk Festival, the Goulburn Bush Music Gathering, Yass Bush Traditions Gathering and the Concert for Drought relief at the Sydney Town Hall.

Graeme also performs regularly at the Bowral Folk Club, Braidwood Folk Club and the Laggan Bush Poets and Musicians Club.

Graeme’s songs are a mix of wry humour, social observation and reflect his deep interest in Australian history and our sometimes quirky national character.

In addition, Graeme’s original compositions have received airplay on both national and regional radio including the ABC’s ‘Australia All Over’.

It’s been a busy twelve months for Graeme with performances at the Loaded Dog Folk Club in Marrickville, the Hornsby Kuring-Gai Folk Club and at the Major’s Creek Folk Festival along with performances at the Southern Sydney Folk Club and regular spots at Bowral Folk Club, Braidwood Folk Club and the Laggan Bush Poets and Musicians Club.

In addition, Graeme entered four of his original compositions in a major national songwriting competition…all four songs were shortlisted and one of the songs made it into the finals. Considering the many hundreds, or perhaps thousands of songs that are submitted, this is positive feedback indeed and recognition of the quality of Graeme’s songwriting.
