Steel City Sue – The Red Zone album tour at Braidwood Folk Club with Jac Bradley
Sunday 12th July at Braidwood’s historic Old Sunday School Hall: Doors open 3pm; Show starts 3:30pm
This show is a launch date for the new Steel City Sue album ‘The Red Zone’ – recorded in winter in Wales with Mike & Katie West (Truckstop Honeymoon)
Steel City Sue
Steel City Sue brings her own brand of ragtime industrial folk. Sue wrote award-winning song Boom Town and is known for a pile of fetching anti-coal songs from the belly of the Hunter Valley beast, served up with humour and regret. Flirting, bad driving, forever poisons and climate catastrophes also get a run in her driven-yet-touching repertoire.
The Steel City Sue trio features the fearsome playing of Naomi Jones (Midnight Chicken) and Tim Merrikin (Coomba All Stars) – all swapping out twin fiddles, old time banjo, Cajun accordion, double bass and guitar with loads of harmonies.
Check out Sue’s award winning song Boom Town complete with tap dancing! https://youtu.be/HnMdTMIIV4U
Special guest Jac Bradley – solo
Beloved Canberra musician Jac Bradley will open this show with a solo set. Spotted in many of the quality outfits of the ACT (Fred Smith, Black Mountain String Band, Kristabelle & the Southern Jubilee Ringers et al.) Jac has been branching out on her own with a new set of original songs.
This will be a great afternoon of music – we hope you can join us! – Book tickets at https://events.humanitix.com/steel-city-sue-at-braidwood-folk-club
