The Raga Sessions:Voice, bow and beat – an ancient conversation
North Indian Classical Music Series with Sangeet Mishra from Mumbai who plays the traditional Indian stringed instrument called the Sarangi. He is an 8th generation sarangi master from the ancient city of Varanasi, he has performed at major festivals across India and internationally in Australia, Japan, Poland and New Zealand.
Supriyo Dutta will be on vocals and he hails from Kolkata. Internationally acclaimed Hindustani classical vocalist, composer, music director and educator from India and has performed extensively across India as well as internationally in Europe, the US, Australia and China.
Tabla (Indian drum) player Niranjan Deodhar (Sydney) has been trained in the Delhi tradition, performs in Indian classical music concerts across Australia. He brings technical grounding and creativity with the classical repertoire to his work.
In support will be The Skinks renowned performer Andy Busuttil will bring a plethora of world music to this interesting and diverse duet.
