Tripple Effect is an award-winning Newcastle-based contemporary folk trio comprising sisters Carrie and Lynden Jacobi with Len McCarthy. Performing original songs about social justice, the environment, and life’s twists and turns – sprinkled with a few from the lighter side of experience – their hallmark is tough but touching observation wrapped in sweet strings, mellow melodies and haunting harmonies.
Formed in 2018, they won the prestigious national Alistair Hulett Songs for Social Justice Award in 2020 for their song ‘Straight from the Heart (the Makarrata Song)’ about the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and have their first album release, Ripple Effects, available as CDs or downloads. Along with some of those songs, they will be performing songs from their upcoming album.

Two Voices in the Crowd brings together the musical partnership of Kathy and Matthew Clarke in a warmly engaging folk performance shaped by close harmonies, gentle acoustic textures and a deep love of story.
Formerly known as Sweet Songs & Soft Guitar, the Newcastle-based duo performs with vocals, guitar, mandolin, Irish whistles and harmonica.
Their Gathering Hunter Songs project celebrates the people, places and colourful history of the Hunter region through a rich collection of songs that are thoughtful, moving and full of local character.
