EVENTS AND MORE

June 21 Join the worldwide celebration of music!

Performed by anyone. Free for everyone.

FolkFedNSW is keen to raise awareness of folk music throughout the State and we think that Make Music Day (MMD) on 21 June is the perfect opportunity and we’re keen to co-ordinate and promote activities that will do just that.

How it Works

Anyone can make music on Make Music Day. It’s a DIY one day, music activity where participants organise their own gig. There are only three conditions for your gig to be part of FolkFed’s Make Music Day activities.

  1. It must be free to the public.
  2. It has to be music (obviously) representing any kind of folk.
  3. It needs to either take place on Wed 21 June or, organise it anytime during the week before, make a short video using your phone or similar and share it on the day to FFNSW’s special MMD23 post on our Facebook page.

Venues – Where?

One of the joys of Make Music Day is that performances can take place anywhere from established music venues to churches, community centres, libraries, galleries, shopping centres, bars and outdoor spaces such as parks and town squares.

What You Need To Do

Start planning your MMD event or activity now. We want to highlight folk music, whether it’s a participatory activity or a concert style event, in the best possible way. Let us know what you’re planning and email the details to admin@folkfednsw.org.au so we can help promote it.
