Date: 29th March – 1st April 2024
Venue:
1121 Penrose Rd, Penrose
Outline:
A camp to celebrate bush music over the Easter Weekend with lots of opportunity for playing tunes, singing songs, reciting poems as well as time-out relaxing, bush-walking, cycling, rowing, and more.
Programme:
A programme of activities to be developed to encourage participation and to foster the interests of the Bush Music Club. Tune workshops at different levels and speeds; Song circles; Song workshops (including songs for XX chromosomes); Poems around the Boree Log; Instrument tutorials in small groups; and your requests.
Facilities:
- Campground: There is ample space for camping whether in tents or campervans or caravans.
- A communal gazebo/ marquee to assemble under.
- A campfire to sit around with billy tea and damper.
- Shower/ Toilet: The venue offers a wash-house with a single shower and composting toilet. There is a tiny-house also on site that offers a shower and composting toilet.
This will suffice for 15-20 people but we will need to book extra if the numbers get beyond that. - An alternative is to dig a long drop and erect a cover around it. It would be a great activity at the start of the weekend. Dave has materials to create a structure and a tractor with an auger to dig a deep hole.
- Power: There is very limited 240V power available.
Cost:
The costs are minimal – just the extra insurance and the cost of additional facilities.
Flat $30 ($10 per night) for the weekend or $10 per night. $20 Students
