The Small Circle of Friends Band (SCofF) – Maurie Mulheron, Deanne Dale and Peter Robertson are SCOFF (The Small Circle of Friends Band) who perform their own original songs as well as new arrangements of classic Australian and international folk songs. They are folk festival favourites known for reinterpreting the protest songs, love ballads, union hymns, and work songs that were discovered during the worldwide folk revival of the 1960s.
SCOFF performed The Times They Are a-Changin’: the songs and stories behind Dylan’s masterpiece
1963 LP, which was described as “…a guided musical tour of one of Bob Dylan’s early and arguably
most important albums…in my top five acts of the [Illawarra Folk] festival.”
More recently, SCofF developed and performed No More Songs, a show which features the songs
and story of ‘60s US folksinger, Phil Ochs.
All three members of SCOFF harmonise and play a range of instruments including the 5-string banjo,
12-string guitar, blues harp, piano and mandolin.
“A night with many great new compositions and many other great ones from the recent past. It was
a night all who were there will long remember. Folk music that is at once sensitive, deeply intimate
and powerfully connecting. It doesn’t get better than this!”

SOLIDARITY CHOIR – Sometimes cheeky, sometimes earnest, always musical, always passionate! Specialising in songs about people’s struggles for freedom and social justice, this bunch of activist singers are often seen at rallies and protests. Don’t miss the chance to hear some of their gems that you won’t hear on the street. They’ll be poking fun at power, paying homage to those who lived and died fighting for a better world, and celebrating songs from around the world – the songs of the people.
