Christine Collister and Michael Fix in Concert
Two outstanding musicians come together – Christine’s sultry, sensuous voice, combining with Michael’s exquisite guitar playing.
Christine Collister, from the Isle of Man, came to attention in the UK singing the 1987 theme for the BBC TV series ‘Life and Loves Of A She Devil’. She sang with the Richard Thompson Band, with Clive Gregson and the female super-group Daphne’s Flight. With a gravity defying voice, impressive live performances and great personal charm she is a magical live performer, she’s well known in the UK, and has performed at all major festivals from Glastonbury to Winnipeg to Cambridge.
Her most recent collaboration is with brilliant Australian guitarist Michael Fix, widely acclaimed as one of the world’s finest acoustic guitarists. He has won three Golden Guitars and numerous other awards in Australia, and tours widely throughout the world. Maton created the Michael Fix model guitar in his honour.
A very special concert.
Support Act: Rare Birdz
Rachel Flannery and Desley Taylor are the Rare Birdz, and have been performing their original works since 2016. Both share a love of writing a good song with an interesting back story, via suspended chords, lush harmonies, quirky lyrics and intimate deliveries – coalescing into songs beautiful, evocative, and sometimes…a little edgy.
