Blue Mountains based folk/world music bands Raduga Trio and Oud Vibrations get together for a night of wild, energetic, exciting and passionate music from the Balkans to the Middle East.
Raduga Trio presents an eclectic, energetic and exciting take on a raw gypsy style. Their repertoire consists of original compositions and arrangements of melodies and songs from around the world, including Gypsy Jazz and Balkan music, on the clarinet, piano accordion, ukulele, gitano guitar, acoustic bass and spoons and other percussion, flavoured with singing in Slavic and Roma languages.
Oud Vibrations features the magical hands and spirited playing of Andy Busuttil on darabuka (Middle Eastern goblet drum), vocals and wind instruments, and John Robinson on oud (Middle Eastern and Turkish lute) playing music from the Middle East, the Ottoman Empire, modern Turkiye and the Balkans. What makes Oud Vibrations both special and spectacular is the capacity of these two players to allow their instruments to speak to each other with intimacy, delicacy and passion.
