Covidiitus has struck Agin !
Unfortunately the Trads can’t be with us
from John Milce – I’m sad to tell you that, having had our gig at the Dog cancelled 2 or 3 times already due to Covid, we have to cancel it ourselves. I got a call from a very sick sounding Ian this morning telling me that he has Covid and has therefore got to self-isolate for the next 7 days.
We did contemplate doing the gig without him, but the Trads without the Pump would be like Roast Beef without Yorkshire Pudding or The Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger. (or become the Tattered Remnants…. ED)
From The Longaway Hunter !
Our auld mates “Sweet Songs & Soft Guitar” have stepped in to save our bacon, and the evening !
That dog thanks Cathy & Matthew Clarke for givin it ago, 2 years since we saw em !
Of course Cathy Rytmeister is hale n hearty and will be doing her bit on the shared bill, can’t stop that lass
Roll up all and have a great night !
Get better RealQuick Ian ! from us all And That Dog !
60 minutes each from
Sweet songs and soft guitar
will present some songs from their “Gathering Hunter songs” project which includes songs by John Dengate, John Thompson, Sue Morley, Hugh Merrell as well as some originals. There will be some favourites from their previous song project “Two Voices in the Crowd”
Cathy is looking forward to giving up her day job later this year, and spending more time singing, playing and songwriting. Cathy started playing guitar and singing at around the age of 12 and has indulged in music as a hobby ever since, fitting it in around the aforementioned day job, union activism and now grandchildren. While waiting for the great indulgence of retirement, she gets her music fix in a happy conjunction of singing and political activism with Sydney choirs Solidarity and Ecopella, participating in singing and tune sessions at folk festivals and other gatherings, and an occasional solo performance at her favourite folk club. Cathy’s repertoire mainly consists of interpretations of traditional songs, but also includes original and co-written pieces and more than a few parodies and filks for special occasions – or particular targets! She will be bringing along some friends …
