Shanty Spectacular Cruise Aboard Tall Ship James Craig

Sydney Inner & East
14 September 2024 @ 1:30pm - 5:00 pm
$80.72

Join us for a Musical harbour cruise aboard the Tall Ship James Craig. Listen, sing and learn about sailors’ Shanties and Aussie bush songs.

Shanty Spectacular Cruise features Sailor’s shanties and traditional Australian songs performed by ‘Forty Degrees South’ and members of the Redfern Shanty Club.

Our performers will teach participants the words so they can join in for a singalong on the choruses. Passengers will also find out how shanties helped make sailor’s work on the ship easier and more enjoyable, and have an opportunity to hoist a sail or heave round the capstan, or at least learn what these ‘sailor words’ mean.

Please plan to board the ship by 1:30pm as the event commences at 2:00pm with opportunities to climb the ships rigging and tour the ship. The ship departs Wharf 7 at 3:00pm and returns at 5:00pm.
