The Accordion Society of Australia NSW is very excited to present the first of a series of accordion workshops. Our two workshop presenters for this first event are Stephan Sernik and Paolo Campanari Brancondi.
Stephan has played everywhere from England to Edinburgh, Sydney to Armidale. Stephan has Slovenian roots. He discovered early on a love of blues. He still plays actively in the Australian blues and jazz scene. He was a key founder of the band Psycho Zydeco and continues to play in Sydney band Dr Gumbo. Stephan will be demonstrating the many different techniques that he uses as a professional musician with a strong focus on bass technique and rhythm.
Italian born Paolo can be found playing regularly in venues, festivals and markets Sydney wide and interstate. His wide range of styles varies from classical, Latin, jazz and even new age accordion. Paolo has spent the last 10 years specialising in French-themed entertainment as a solo act, and Italian-themed as a duo with an Italian Singer. Paolo also loves to re-arrange – with his own twist – original songs from various musical ensemble and instrumentations for his unique instrument. He will be demonstrating these techniques and showing you how you can achieve these skills. Focusing on the construction of bass, chords, harmony and rhythm
All levels welcome.
