Innessa
Establishing herself on the Australian festival scene, Sunshine Coast songstress, Innessa, has found her niche infusing alternative folk with Eastern-European influences.
Publishing her first poem in her native Russian at 12 years old, Innessa’s way with words has more recently earned her a finalist spot in the 2024, 2023 and 2017 Queensland Music Awards, seen her release four studio albums, and perform at some of Australia’s biggest folk festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Canberra Folk Festival, and venues in Russia.
The concert will be preceded by a free one-hour singing workshop (5.30-6.30pm) – the delight of learning the English version of a traditional Slavic Folk Song “Golden Wreath” from Innessa’s latest album. Register for the workshop here.
The Librarian Action Dolls
The Librarian Action Dolls are a three-part harmony country singing group, backed by Spike Flynn on finger-picking guitar and Gary Brown on Dobro. Their love of harmonies developed through a capella singing and an affinity for the unaffected Appalachian music styles. Their repertoire includes country gospel dating back to the 1800s and traditional songs such as those performed by The Carter Family and Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, as well as more contemporary material. The Librarian Action Dolls will be performing with Spike Flynn (guitar) and Gary Brown (guitar).
