Friends, folkies and festival-goers, lend us your ears! Christmas is coming and so is the annual Folk Federation of NSW end-of-year get-together and concert (or micro-festival, if you like!)
Yes, that’s right, it’s another great ”Folk Wrap” with something for everyone – a lineup including powerhouse contemporary folk duo We Mavericks, the founder members of Australia’s pre-eminent folk music family Margaret and Bob Fagan, the keepers of the UK folk tradition in the antipodes Traditional Graffiti and the masters and commanders of unaccompanied songs about maritime and industrial history Forty Degrees South. The added festive bonus will be a not-in-the-least-bit-serious mummers play written and performed by members of Sydney’s Black Joak Morris.
This year’s Folk Wrap will be held at the Annandale Neighbourhood Centre, 79 Johnston St, Annandale, on Sunday, 8th of December.
To provide plenty of time for socialising and entertainment, we’re kicking off at 2.00pm. The usual sweet and savoury festive treats will be available throughout the afternoon, plus we’re putting on a light buffet meal ($10 a plate) to see you through to the end of the program at around 7.30pm. BYO drinks.
