Based in the Blue Mountains, Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, and places in between, the environmental choir Ecopella will converge on Blackheath for an uplifting afternoon concert of save-the-world music. Passionate, satirical and creative, this environmental choir has been spreading its a cappella manifesto since 1998. Ecopella’s sense of fun fills each performance with positive and satirical messages. Even when the mood becomes serious the beauty and solemnity of the music uplifts the listener.
Also appearing will be Craig Sinclair, whose live performances combine timeless folk story-telling with a lyrical fingerstyle acoustic and slide guitar to craft a unique Australian folk sound, drawing on a musical canvas that ranges from whimsical ragtime country blues to evocative open-tuned textures.
All the proceeds will be donated to the Blue Mountains Wombat Conservation Group for their valuable work combatting mange.
