Sydney Fleadh

Comhaltas Sydney is delighted to announce the Sydney Fleadh May 28th – 30th 2021.

The weekend will consist of concerts by some of Australia’s top Irish musicians, featuring ceili, music & dance workshops for both adults & juniors, trad sessions & other Irish cultural events.

All concerts and the ceili are at The Gaelic Club. Workshops are at the Gaelic Club and the Quaker Hall, 119 Devonshire St, Surry Hill.

Friday night concert featuring:

  • Cameron Mather Band, Dara O’Coisdealbha, Ken O’Neill & Luka DeFra
  • Kejafi
  • Celtic Tones

Saturday night concert featuring:

  • Jimmy Malarkey Band
  • Brian 0’Maini & Louise Phelan
  • Maggie Carty, Arlene McCarroll, Finbar McCann and Máirtín Staunton

Sunday afternoon Ceili featuring:

  • Ann O’Donovan and the Ceili Playboys

Saturday Workshops at Quaker Hall, 119 Devonshire St, Surry Hill featuring:

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm – Fiddle Masterclass – Stephen Murray
  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm – Wind Whistle / Flute – Jade Tinkler
  • 2:00pm  –  4:00pm – All instruments Music Workshop – Arlene McCarroll

 

Saturday Workshops at The Gaelic Club featuring:

  • 10:00am – 11:15am – Kids music workshop – Edel McBride & Toby Armstrong
  • 12:00pm – 1:30pm Children’s dance workshop – An Steip a Chipîn – Margaret Winnett

Sunday Workshops at The Gaelic Club featuring:

  • 1:00pm – 3:00pm – Amhranaiocht /Singing workshop – Caitlín Ní Mhéalóid

Entry to workshops is cash on the door at the venue $29 adults and $15 kids.

Sunday Sessions:

5:00pm – 8:00pm – P J O’Brien’s, King St

5:00pm – 9:00pm – The Doss House, George St
