Rosie McDonald

Based in Sydney, Rosie McDonald is an established singer/guitarist who brings the spirit of true folk music to the fore with performances at numerous folk festivals over the past 25 years with the groups Mothers of Intention, Folklore, the Hippy Trippy band , RAPT, Seanchas, The Prankqueans and The Go Twos with partner, Bluegrass mandolinist, Nigel Lever , Ann Palumbo and Quentin Fraser . Rosie has a strong rhythmic drive on acoustic, alternate tuned and finger picking style guitar along with bouzouki and bodhran and has a rich alto voice to lead us into the stories from the Celtic folk, 1960’s folk, trad and blues traditions. Rosie has also been Artistic Director for the Bundanoon Folk festival since 2023 and is passionate about promoting Folk music in the wider community.
