HKFC’s April concert night will be a double bill featuring Peter Willie and Jasmine Beth.
Peter Willey, stand-up comedian, singer and guitarist has appeared at many top professional comedy clubs and has long been a favourite at folk clubs around Australia. Fresh from performing at the National Folk Festival, Peter will bring an arsenal of original songs rich with humour, inspired by the suburban wastelands and covering topics from tupperware to thongs.
Jasmine Beth plays original songs about people of all kinds – from problem gamblers to problem politicians – with influences from folk and country singer-songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s. With a number of songs recognised in songwriting awards, Jasmine regularly tours Australia and the UK and has performed at many folk clubs and folk festivals in both countries.
As usual, a few floor-spots will be also available for folk who’d like to perform a tune, song or poem to a supportive audience.
