Sister duo ‘North and Elsewhere’ join folksinger Anousha Victoire for an afternoon of songs and stories at Bar Sole in Newcastle.
A weaver of everyday dreams, Anousha Victoire shares bilingual stories across cultures and time with fingerpicking guitar, bell-over-water vocal tone and sparkling violin accompaniment. Enthralling festival audiences from Woodford to Cresfest, she generates an emotional intimacy that moves the audience to tears, whether in a town hall or folk club.
North and Elsewhere are Folk Alliance Australia’s 2026 ‘Youth Artist of the Year’. Raised on folk music and family harmonies, Hazel and Roanna Law merge storytelling traditions with honest, contemporary lyricism. They explore humanity and connection with a grounded yet joyful presence that resonates with children and adults alike. Their live performances are characterised by sibling harmonies and on-stage connection; to each other and to the audiences they sing for. They have twice won their regional final of the ListenUp Music ‘Songwriting Prize’ with tracks from their debut album ‘Safe Harbour’. North and Elsewhere are touring ‘Safe Harbour’ from Nov ’26 to Feb ’27 with shows across six states and territories including appearances at major folk festivals.
Doors open at 2 pm for drinks and nibbles. Music starts at 3 pm.
