SCUPRIRI

Scupriri, Sydney’s only Sicilian folk ensemble, brings the warmth, rhythm, and theatrical charm of Sicily to the stage. Rooted in the island’s rich cultural heritage — shaped over centuries by invading Mediterranean empires — Scupriri celebrates Sicily’s music, stories, and language with infectious warmth and theatrical flair.

Their seven‑piece lineup — performing in traditional dress with instruments such as the Maranzano and Tamburello — has delighted audiences at major Australian festivals including Ferragosto, the Bellingen Taranta Festival, the National Multicultural Festival (Canberra), and St Albans Folk Festival.

THE FULL IRISH

The Full Irish bring the Irish pub session to the stage. Their performance ranges from powerful up-tempo songs to haunting ballads steeped with the earthy sound of their Irish roots.

Storytellers, protesters, and performers, The Full Irish possess a catalogue of traditional Irish folk songs and tunes, as well a large selection of contemporary Irish music and original songs. Our repertoire comprises music from Ireland, Australia, the UK, Canada, America, and all points in between.

“These guys can deliver an up-tempo lively sound and then drop it down to a haunting melody, steeped with their earthly Celtic roots! They perform music with a seamless blending of influences as diverse as The Dubliners, The Pogue’s, Christy Moore, Eric Bogle, Thin Lizzy, Snow Patrol, U2 and not forgetting The Rubber bandits!”

The band was formed as a duo in 2019 when Sullie and Quinner joined forces. They had been playing together in the Irish Session in the Fiddler in Rouse Hill regularly. In late 2020 Owen Watson joined the band on vocals, accordion, and whistle.

BLUE MALLEE

Blue Mallee are an inspiring duo that fuse multi-folk genres of indie rock, ambient dreams, and trad folk influences into their sound. This original act, comprising of Evan and Niev, are pushing the boundaries of contemporary folk music with injections of primal rhythms, storytelling and great banter in their live shows.

Blue Mallee have fostered a wide music following and have played multiple music venues and festivals in NSW including Bundanoon Folk Festival, Yass Irish & Celtic Festival, Tilba Festival, Sussex Inlet Scandinavian Viking Festival, Northern Beaches Music Festival, Lockhart Spirit Of The Land Festival and Uranquinty Folk Festival. Notable support slots over the last 12 months include Conrad Sewell, Ash Grunwald and The Black Sorrows.

After receiving a music grant, Blue Mallee released their debut EP ‘Shout That Whisper’ in 2022. In 2024, ‘Questions of Fear’ was released to wide critical acclaim.
