“Marco and Rusty” are Mark Ballesi (Marco) and Russell Churcher (Rusty).
Marco and Rusty are established folk musicians who share a love of the singer/songwriter tradition. Their rich vocal harmonies and down-to-earth instrumentation on guitar, banjo and dobro bring to life songs, both classic and original, that will engage, amuse and uplift your spirit.
After a long-term involvement in folk, bluegrass and old-timey music performance in various guises, Mark and Russell came together in 2024 as “Marco and Rusty” to present a series of concerts celebrating the life and music of Gordon Lightfoot.
Their collaboration is now continuing with an eclectic selection of original material and thought-provoking and quirky songs from contemporary songwriters such as Richard Thompson, Iris DeMent, Keiran Kane, Gillian Welch and Guy Clark.
Russell’s vocals and guitar accompaniment are beautifully enhanced by Mark’s tasteful dobro, banjo and vocal-harmony input. Their relaxed and down-to-earth style appeals to a wide range of musical tastes.
