Sydney Scottish Fiddlers

The Sydney Scottish Fiddlers is a group of musicians (not just fiddlers) who love to learn and play the traditional music of Scotland. The "Fiddlers" aim is to develop a basic repertoire of traditional and contemporary Scottish dance tunes, airs and popular Scottish melodies that can be competently played for social gatherings, concerts, dances and demonstrations. If you are interested in the Scottish tradition or, in sharing some new tunes, the Sydney Scottish Fiddlers meet at the Gaelic Club, Sydney on the 3rd Sunday each month to play and learn traditional and modern Scottish music in the oral tradition. Members also have access to workshops from visiting musicians on a variety of trad Scottish playing techniques and the group is often invited to perform at social gatherings, concerts, dances, folk clubs and festivals.
