Our Regency Ball this year celebrates Mrs Elizabeth Macquarie.

As the wife of Governor Lachlan Macquarie,  1810 – 1822 term,  her contributions to shaping Sydney’s social life and town planning in the colonial era were significant.

Please see our link below to find out some more about her and see sample music and instructions for one of our dances, The Flowers of Edinburgh.

Bog Myrtle from Alchemy Works - Seeds ...

Bog myrtle,   badge of Elizabeth’s family, the Campbells of Appin, Scotland.

At the ball we will present English Country Dances which include dances that were popular in that era plus modern dances in this genre.

All dances will be taught and called.  It is not necessary to bring a partner.

To gain familiarity with this dancing you are welcome to join us at North Sydney on Saturday afternoon 13th April. See separate entry for this event.

There will be a supper break at 8pm .

Regency or formal dress will be much admired, but not a requirement.

Advance payment may be made in cash at the North Sydney event, or by direct deposit. Details of this can be found on our website
